It’s a long journey to the top of any mountain. Climbing up it one step at a time can take hours, days or even weeks, all depending on how high you must climb. I am happy to say then, that after what was just two and a half short months, I have almost reached the summit, I have almost climbed my mountain. There is a lot that goes into fundraising. Between doing cold calls or visiting businesses, it can often seem like a lot of work. Standing at the bottom and looking all the way up at the summit can make this task seem even harder, maybe impossible in some circumstances. However. no matter how hard it gets, no matter how seemingly dark your path may become you cannot quit because just like everyone who has reached that summit, or any summit higher than yours, they did it one step at a time. I am happy to say that my fundraising is almost complete, I have reached a position where the organization that is running the peace core is paid off, and all that I have to worry about now is flight costs. Don’t get me wrong, my journey is not over yet and I still have quite a way to go, but it still feels good to look down and see how far I have come, how close that I am to the top.
