Leaving China

Today marks my final hours in China. As we speak, I am already in the airport and ready to leave back for the US. Although my flight is not until 9am, I had to get up to leave at 4am because the program has all of the morning departures leave as a group.

I am feel rather mixed about this entire ordeal. To be honest it is bitter sweet. On one hand, I am able to return to my family and see them again after what feels like forever. On the other hand, I am leaving a country which (hopefully this is not the case) I may never be able to return to. Wether it would be school, work or life in general, I may never get another opportunity like this again. However, that does not mean I am ungrateful for the time I spent here. It has been the most life changing experience that I have ever had, and it motivates me to not only do, but also change many things in my life.

I have 19 hours of flights and 9 hours of layovers ahead of me, not to mention the other two or so hours before my initial departure. I will be home in 30 hours, where the next part of my journey will begin.
